CSV is the app’s import path and an export option. It is useful when you are moving a spreadsheet-shaped history into DiveAtlas or keeping a straightforward copy you can inspect and archive.

Choose Subsurface XML and UDDF as distinct exports

The Data Transfer screen offers a Subsurface XML file and a UDDF file separately. Subsurface XML is named for the Subsurface-oriented export in the app; UDDF is the app’s separate Universal Dive Data Format export. Choose the format that matches the tool or archive you are moving to rather than assuming the two files are interchangeable.

Export a copy before a large change, import a small sample when possible, and compare dates, sites, depths, durations, and notes after the move. DiveAtlas is a local-first logbook; the website does not upload or inspect your dive files.
